What does a destination wedding planner in India do?

A destination wedding planner helps you choose the location and venue, then manages vendors, decor, guest travel and stays, permissions and the schedule across the wedding days. You make the decisions that matter to you, and the planning team handles everything else on the ground.

Why should we hire a destination wedding planning company in India?

A destination wedding means vendors, venues, permissions and guest travel in a place you do not live in. A planning company knows the local options, manages your suppliers and the details, and is on the ground on the wedding days, which saves time and avoids costly mistakes.

How much does a destination wedding in India cost?

The cost depends on the destination, the season, the number of guests, the number of events and the level of decor. Jaspira prepares a clear budget after a first conversation about your dates and guest list. For a closer look at what drives the budget, read our Kerala destination wedding cost guide.

Can you plan a destination wedding within a budget?

Yes. Tell us your budget at the start and we shortlist destinations, venues and a guest list that work within it. You see how each choice affects the total before you commit.

What is the best time for a destination wedding in Kerala?

Most couples choose October to March, when the weather is drier and cooler. The monsoon (roughly June to September) brings heavy rain but also a quiet, green setting for smaller celebrations. See the month-by-month guide.

How early should we start planning?

For peak-season dates, six to twelve months ahead gives you the best choice of venues and guest rooms. Smaller weddings can sometimes be planned in less time, so it is worth asking early.

Does Jaspira plan weddings outside Kerala?

Yes. Jaspira began in Kerala and now plans weddings across South India (Goa, Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry, Coorg and more) and across India (Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Manali, Kashmir, Andaman and more). Browse all destinations.

Can you plan a wedding if we live abroad?

Yes. Many couples plan with Jaspira from overseas through calls, shared plans and a single point of contact, with the team handling vendors and logistics in India. Read our guide to planning an Indian wedding from abroad.

What permits and paperwork do we need?

Requirements depend on the venue, the location and whether the couple wants the marriage registered. Jaspira guides you through the documents and venue permissions for your destination. Rules can change, so always confirm current requirements with the authorities. Our permit checklist is a good starting point.

How Jaspira Designs a Wedding at Cherai Beach Resorts

Our on-ground wedding architects coordinate multi-day celebrations by strategically allocating functions to match lighting, natural breeze, and guest transition flow:

Morning • Day 1 🌿

Haldi & Mehendi

Hosted by the poolside or shaded palm garden. Styled with fresh yellow marigold curtains, cane low-seating diwans, refreshing tender coconut & elaneer counters, and lively Kerala chenda melam or dhol beats.

Evening • Day 1 ✨

Sangeet & Cocktail Gala

Held inside the climate-controlled indoor ballroom to bypass Kerala's 10:00 PM outdoor loudspeaker curfew. Designed with concert-grade truss lighting, customized LED visuals, a full cocktail bar, and an energetic DJ dance floor.

Sunset / Auspicious • Day 2 🌸

Muhurtham • Pheras

Curated on the scenic waterfront lawn facing sunset or backwaters. A bespoke floral mandap adorned with jasmine, lotus, and temple brass urulis, accompanied by traditional nadhaswaram live musicians.

Night • Day 2 🥂

Grand Wedding Reception

An evening banquet under a canopy of warm fairy lights across the celebration lawn. Candlelit guest round tables, live instrumental acoustic ensemble, and an elaborate royal multi-cuisine banquet spread.

📅 Seasonality & Weather Considerations for Cherai

Peak Season (October to March): Best weather with gentle breezes and pleasant temperatures. Open-air lawn weddings are spectacular.
Summer (April to May): Warm tropical days; morning and evening ceremonies are recommended.
Monsoon (June to August): Romantic lush greenery; indoor air-conditioned ballroom setups or waterproof glass canopy structures are required for all celebrations.

Before You Book: Jaspira Planning Advisory

✓ Right For You If

Families planning an intimate to grand luxury destination wedding of 80 to 400 guests.
Couples wanting scenic Cherai waterfront, backwater, or tropical estate vistas as their primary backdrop.
Families seeking an integrated resort where the bridal party and guests stay and celebrate together at one venue.
Couples who value professional on-ground coordination and transparent hotel contract negotiations with zero agency commission.

— Consider Other Venues If

You require a mega convention auditorium for 2,500+ local walk-in floating guests without accommodation.
You demand high-decibel outdoor amplified DJ bass past midnight (Kerala law mandates moving music indoors to the ballroom after 10:00 PM).
You require completely self-catered kitchen facilities without using the hotel's certified executive culinary brigade.

💡 Jaspira Insider Planner Tip: Always secure your function lawn allocations, food & beverage minimums, and room block release dates in writing before submitting your initial hotel booking deposit. Jaspira coordinates directly with the General Manager of Cherai Beach Resorts to negotiate complimentary bridal suite upgrades, extended setup hours, and favorable cancellation clauses on your behalf.
